Just because we are all doing our due diligence and keeping our distance from friends, family, and public areas doesn’t mean we can’t still get social and share a glass of wine with friends virtually.

Because we all have access to several electronic devices and mobile devices there are multiple ways and platforms you can use for your virtual wine tasting experience. For instance, the easy-to-use platform Zoom is on the rise for all virtual meetings and can most certainly suffice for an evening of virtual wine tasting. Also, there are other platforms available such as Google Chat, and FaceTime.

Now there are several ways to go about planning a virtual wine tasting. However, we recommend for starters to create your own. This allows you and your friends the opportunity to customize your very first at-home and virtual tasting as a team and at your own pace.

Creating Your Virtual Wine Tasting:

First and foremost you need to gather a list of friends and family and invite them to your virtual wine tasting. In your invitation you can list the wines your guests should purchase for their virtual wine tasting experience. This gives them enough time to purchase the wines they may not already have. To make it even easier you can add We The People’s 2019 California Chardonnay and our 2018 California Cabernet Sauvignon to your tasting so that your guest can simply order the wine and have it delivered to their doorstep without ever leaving their homes. Plus, for a limited time only we are offering $1 shipping on 3 bottles of wine or more.

If you want to kick this virtual wine tasting up a notch or two, add a pairing menu to the invitation. This could include different appetizers, deserts, or even different types of chocolate that pair well with the wines you have selected. If you are uncertain about what types of food pair well with certain types of wine and We The People Wine, read our recent blog Food and Wine Pairings for Beginners,” to learn more.

Lastly, If your tasting doesn’t turn out as planned, it’s okay! The best part about creating your own tasting with your friends and family is being able to adjust quickly and go-with-the-flow.

We really hope you have some fun during the quarantine, all while supporting your local wineries and small businesses. Stay safe and don’t just quarantine, but quarant-WINE! And as always we would love to hear about you and your friend’s virtual wine tasting experience. Send us your feedback and stories at info@wethepeople.wine.
